You lured me in with tempting bait
And promise of fulfilment.
I took a bite, it tasted sweet
but oh there was a sting.
Too late, I'm hooked, tried to resist
but the pulling just got harder.
You pulled and pushed and gave and took
I then became ensnared.
You drew me close and looked in awe
my shining scales and beautiful curves.
I was calm in your gentle touch,
lay there in warmth without a struggle.
I loved that feel but knew it wrong,
I struggled but the barb was tight.
But then you found a flaw in me
a missing scale I was not right.
I did not suit your needs this time
I did not fit your plans.
You cast me back in the deep dark pool
I lay still in shock as the cold hit.
But there's still a flicker in my tail
It's faint and barely there.
I'll lie here at the bottom now,
'till my strength returns to surface.
